RIP, Dick.

One of my personal heroes, Richard Winters, died on the 2nd at his home in rural Pennsylvania. He was best known as the most famous commander of Easy Company, 506th PIR, whose exploits in France, Belgium, and Germany during World War II were the subject of Band of Brothers. Major Winters was a recipient of the Distinguished Service Cross for the Assault on Brécourt Manor on D-Day, and only did not recieve the Medal of Honor due to a quota system in the 101st Airborne Division. He would have been 92 next month.
 Currahee!!
